General Information and Policies:
Volunteers from your organization or company are invited to assist with BREC's Baton Rouge Zoo’s annual Boo at the Zoo… a “merry, not scary” fall family festival. Children will enjoy safe trick-or-treating and other fun fall activities throughout the Zoo.
- Boo takes place rain or shine, and as an event volunteer, you agree to staff your area regardless of the weather.
- All volunteers must pre-register prior to the event.
- For all days of the festival, you may enter as early as 9 a.m. The Zoo does not close until 5 p.m., and for large events, it may take longer to clear patrons from zoo grounds. We ask that you staff your station for the entire shift.
- All volunteers must volunteer at the station they are assigned to the day of the event.
- No cell phone use while volunteering at the zoo unless it is an emergency. Cell phone use during your shift will result in invalidation of service hours.
- No children are allowed through the volunteer entrance.
- Volunteers may sign-up for as many shifts as they would like.
- Volunteers must be at least 15 years old.
- Volunteers 15-17 years old, must be accompanied by an adult, no exceptions!
- Volunteers must enter through the volunteer entrance of the Zoo.
- Please return volunteer lanyards to the volunteer check-in before leaving.
- Assigned areas are first come serve depending on the needs during each day of the event.
Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you!
Sincerely,
Dodi Falcon
