As we near the end of April, we certainly could not let the month go by without celebrating National Volunteer Week. This week, we want to salute YOU, our volunteers. According to Points of Light, in 1974, National Volunteer Week was established and has expanded over the years. It serves as a special week to recognize the impact of a volunteer's time, and the power of individuals and groups to come together to face the greatest challenges in a community.
Since last year, United We Feed volunteers totaling 210 individuals have served a collective 549 hours to their community, feeding those impacted hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the 2019-2020 tax season, 120 VITA volunteers completed 5,600 tax returns. The contribution of time from these volunteers is priceless.
Haven't volunteered with us yet? No worries! Below, we will share with you how you can be a part of Volunteer United.
One of the Greatest Gifts You Can Give is Your Time
We invite you to Volunteer United and become part of the strategic solution to achieve sustainable results. Whether you are a corporate partner, individual, or new to the area, no other organization is better equipped to connect volunteers to the needs in our community.
Ways to get involved:
Individual Engagement - CAUW connects individuals that bring passion, expertise and resources needed to help us carry out our mission in the areas of Community Impact and Fundraising. Through VITA, United We Feed, or Jambalaya Jam, we can help you find a project or event that fits your needs.
Corporate Engagement - Let CAUW help drive your corporate goals with customized unique volunteer projects that not only strengthen our community but provide significant benefits to your company and employees in both tangible and intangible ways.
Virtual Opportunity - Grant Review Volunteers make lasting change by using an online system to review applications, evaluate the impact and effectiveness of a program, and create a team recommendation about United Way funding. These volunteers are essential to helping CAUW impact our community by working to discover how we can collectively make permanent change. We invite you to learn more about the critical needs in our community and the organizations addressing them, attend site visits to see the programs in action, ensure donor dollars are being invested appropriately, network and engage with other professionals, and be the one who can make all the difference in your community.
